Miss Northwest/Maryville Pageant

Also this weekend, I got to watch the Miss Northwest pageant. This was the first pageant that I competed at, only a short year ago. I am amazed at what I have learned this past year. Congratulations to all the winners, I enjoyed watching the pageant and visiting with the other title holders in attendance. The Miss contestants are all role models.

Farm Show!

This weekend I met up with the St. Joesph title holders to hang out at the Farm Show in St. Joseph. We were hosted by Perka Building's booth. While we were at the show we greeted many people while we learned about farm equipment. Patricia, Miss Midland Empire's OT, who is from ST. Louis, was amazed by the size of the tractor tires. Seanica, Miss St. Joseph, had a great time because it was right up her alley, since she is a content editor for the National Association of Agriculure Broadcasting.

CANstruct

Last weekend, I had a BLAST building a radio station out of cans to help local food pantries and Habitat for Humanity. The cans that we were building with went to Second Harvest in St. Joseph. There were nine teams and each team benefited a different food pantry. I helped out with two shifts, each shift was one hour long. You could only work one hour at a time, then other team members had to work on it before you could help again. I volunteered on the Eagle Radio Team. It was held at the mall, and passersby could monetarily vote on their favorite. Around 10 thousand dollars was raised.

Miss America!

Miss America week is FINALLY here! I know Syd will do a great job at Miss America, she already has done awesome, but to make sure she has a spot in the finalists you can vote for Sydney Friar at www.missamerica.org/videocontest/ You will ony be allowed to vote on one IP address. Smart phones, iPods, and iPads will all work to vote, as well as computers. Also, if you have a Facebook, to show our support for Missouri, you should go to the Miss America Organization page and comment, "Go Miss Mo," or something encouraging, on Sydney's pictures. Don't forget to like them!
